Even as someone who doesn't cosplay themselves I have never seen a cosplay contest that wasn't terribly organized or fully biased toward people that had good standing with the judges or were well known. I have seen too many terribly looking cosplayers win against the most amazing self-made ones simply because the person that won had made a name for themselves already.

dont you understand this is how everything is becoming though? we are being made to pay extremely high prices for things that have had every ounce of the value possible they could suck out of of so they can make the most amount of money while spending the absolute least. it's the same as how all of the ingredients in all foods keep being changed by the companies, in order to save them more money, and at the same time they'll raise the price *and* you'll even end up paying way more just for less of it. this is all part of the same problem ... and even if you did all enjoy being in each others company, i really think the company shouldn't get away with this when it's very much a scam - if they didn't say what it would actually be and every other performance was done a specific way (and is the reason why people enjoyed seeing it...). idk i guess i would call that false advertising

A lot of kids like Pomni right now cause there’s a lot of Roblox games that have the Digital Circus characters (well at least I think) 😅 My niece showed me one of the games and I was like ??? Why is Pomni there lol

only criticism is that the first cosplayer were sci fi nerds (yes) but way older sci fi nerds than just star trek. people would do cosplays of based off old book and movie characters and the earliest in this sense of dressing up were based off pulp artwork and film at old science fiction conventions far back as the 40s. just the term wasnt really coined until like the 80s so it was initially called futuristicostumes (something i didnt learn when i reached into the subject 10 years ago and man. gotta love old timey naming so corny and kitsch but its so them in that era. that is so mid century)

When I saw Miku in Hong Kong around 2013-2014 I was disappointed that Danceroid wasn't there for the opener. Then followed by the tragic events of the best Miku song writers, I felt the music went down hill and I didn't go to a Miku concert after that. I just go to KPOP concerts these days. ITZY is performing tomorrow in Dallas and I'll be there! Let's GOOOOO!!

Haha, this sounds so much like the Spokane, WA Lilac City Comic Con. I believe it's a newer one and the people running the cosplay competition didn't seem to have any experience. Buuut tickets were like $15-20, so it made sense to me at the time that it wouldn't be like NYCC levels of organization or judging or prizes or MC-ing (oh god, the host/presenter guy was terrible...), especially since I don't do cosplay at all and am a bit unfamiliar with the scene. But they kept getting peoples' real names mixed up with their CHARACTER names and then also mixed up with their STAGE (or online) names, because the host had literally never heard that many cosplayers have a stage and/or online name that would be recognizable or that they would want to promote. It was pretty cringe and awkward.

I'm working on the pauldrons of Dr Fate but the same I just don't like plastidip, Im thinking about putting white glue on the airsprayer gun and give the foamy a good coat and then paint it.

To save your feet from the concrete floor, get some foodservice/kitchen floor mats. They are big rubber cushions for you to stand on that make a huge difference! We have to fight over who gets to use them at work.

As someone who owns several of those old sawdust filled porcelain face clown dolls your choice of different patterns for the yellow REALLY makes you look like an old clown doll which is so perfect for Pomni!

The kids watching amazing digital circus and hazbin hotel and a lot of other stuff that is aimed at adults right now is getting to me. I saw a literal child dressed up as Angel Dust from hazbin at triad and that rude child who took the rc car looked like an Alastor. Either way looks like momocon was super fun! I loved all yhe cosplay premiers!

I wish I would have been able to see you this weekend! I was busy with my own booth in the artist alley, so the only time I was able to stop by was Monday, which, uh, obviously did not work out 😂 But I’m so glad that the weekend was good!! I hope that I can go again next year and come say hi properly. Thank you for tabling and taking the time to talk to so many fans, hopefully next year will be even better! 🙏💕
